Our team of surveyors spend much of their time preparing specifications for conservation works for a huge range of buildings and structures, from cottages to castles, bridges to doocots, and ruins to mills (not an exhaustive list!). Where relevant we work to British and European Standards to ensure best practice. But the crucial element forĀ a specification is all in the communication to the contractor on site (particularly NBS style specifications), if your specification is full of redundant clauses that have no relevance for the job, this can only add to confusion and lead to things potentially going wrong on site.
